Our first weekend away

At 9 months of age, Jenna spent her first weekend with her grandparents as Josh and I went to a wedding in Wilmington, NC. Jenna stayed with my parents and did great!!! We dropped her off on Friday mid-morning and it was just my dad. He joked that he hadn't changed a diaper since my brother and I were kids. We got out of the door without any problems. Grandpa was doing great and was feeding Jenna lunch when she looked around and realized that neither mom nor dad was there. She then started crying. At the same time Haley our dog decided to get sick on the floor and the other dogs who were gated off in the mud room had peed all over the floor. Talk about a serious initiation!!! Grandpa did great though! Jenna had fun all weekend playing with her grandparents and cousin Brianna, but most of all she enjoyed riding on the golf cart.

Josh and I headed to Wilmington, NC for the wedding of my college sorority sister, Cameron. The rehearsal dinner was at a beautiful Country Club. The food was amazing and we just had a great time feeling like we were on a date. After the rehearsal, everyone went to a bar called Tango du Chat. It was weird but fun to just get to hang out with folks we hadn't seen in a long time and not have to rush back to our little girl. (Although my dad and brother laugh that I was okay because I called every couple of hours, which I only called twice a day). Saturday morning, Josh got up and went to play golf with the guys. Meanwhile I got to attend a beautiful bridesmaids luncheon where I had my first taste of chilled fruit soup. Now that was interesting...mango and blueberry puree. Then all of the girls headed to the salon to have our hair done and then to the church! The ceremony was sweet and then the reception was a blast. Josh and I as usual were one of the first couples out on the dancefloor. Another night of good food and good times. While we has a great weekend, Sunday morning we were itching to get back to our little girl, who was very excited to see us.

Gotta love free landscaping

So we just had additional landscaping done around the house on Ryan Homes' dime. We owe a big thank you to Josh's mom, Deb, for getting Ryan Homes to give her free landscaping and holding off to do the work once we moved in. It looks great and is even better since we didn't have to pay for it! The only challenge is watering it. It took me forever to water all of the beds while juggling Jenna. Eventually I had to wait and finish everything once she went down for her morning nap.

We are getting geared up for our first weekend away from Jenna just the two of us. Josh has gone out of town and I have gone out of town, but never both of us together without Jenna. We are headed to Wilmington, NC for the wedding of my good friend Cameron. Cameron and I were sorority sisters in college and I am so excited for her. Paul, the groom-to-be, is a great guy and the perfect match for Cameron. This weekend should be fun and hopefully worry-free. Jenna will be staying at her granparents' house with the llamas. It will be interesting to hear what all they do over the weekend.

We're back!!!

Sorry for the long delay between postings. Things have been busy and we finally have a little break. Between coordinating everything for my buyer client's closing which was on Thursday and maintaining a listing I have, Jenna and I have been busy. Plus Jenna has developed so much that she is super active and in to everything!

Memorial Day weekend Josh, Jenna, and I drove to Owings Mills, MD which is north west (I think) of Baltimore to visit my good friend Jackie and her husband Cary. We hadn't been to their place since we helped them move in a year ago. It was fun seeing all that they had done to the place. We spent one day in Inner Harbor Baltimore. Then Saturday we drove to Annapolis and explored. Let me tell you...crab cakes are the best in Maryland! Then on Sunday, Josh and Cary played golf while Jackie, Jenna and I went to Babies 'R Us and helped Jackie register. Jackie is pregnant and due near the end of September. She is pretty much going through the same seasons pregnant that I did just two weeks later. Jenna was such a great traveler. She slept in her pack and play for the first time with no problems. Used her new travel high chair with no problems. But most importantly was just a good girl. She played, crawled and tried to get into everything.

Real estate-wise I have had a good month since my buyer client closed on his town home and my listing went under contract. We just need to get through inspection/repair negotiations, so keep the prayers going. Things have been steady and I have been blessed. I am thinking though that we are going to put Jenna into a daycare for at least a few days a week. I am starting to struggle to get everything done by myself and still feel human. She is so active and into everything that you have to watch her all of the time. Plus she is so intrigued by other kids that I think she would have fun playing with others. I am not complaining in the least because I feel very fortunate that I have been able to spend this time with her. I also feel blessed that we are choosing to put her into daycare part time so I can have some time versus having to put her into daycare full time because my career demands it.

Updates on Jenna...she has mastered crawling and does it with ease and speed. She can pull up on things to a standing position and can even walk some while you hold her up and guide her. Her favorite past times are pulling everything out of her toy case, chewing/reading books and chasing Haley. While some might not agree with this, Jenna loves the TV show "The Wiggles" because they sing and dance. She waves her arms and bobs along. TV time is limited, but it is educational when she sees it. We have learned if there isn't music, she isn't that in to it.

Josh has been busy with work, but finally sees light at the end of the tunnel. Finally he is getting the workload from his new position under control and the guy hired for his old position is starting to pick up momentum. So now he doesn't have to do two jobs. He also is getting back into playing golf. Since they place golf with their clients, it is in his best interests to get better at the game. The only way to do that is to get out there. Plus it gives him some fun down time since he works so hard.

That's it for now. Take care...
