So we made it through Josh being gone most of last week. He got back home Friday afternoon and a few hours later our company arrived. Through Facebook we were reconnected with one of Josh's high school friends, Brian Thompson. Brian, his wife Christine, and their 2 boys Trevor and Blake had been spending time in the Raleigh area and drove over to spend time with us. We went to eat at Brixx Pizza at Birkdale and after dinner let the kids play in the water fountain. They had a blast, but we knew it was time to go when Trevor's lips were turning purple (the water is cold!). After the fountain, we made a final stop at Mia gelato for some yummy gelato before heading home. Then it was more playing as the bounce house was set up and they played nonstop in the drive way to work off the sugar. The Thompsons got on the road around 2 on Saturday to head back to NJ. It was nice getting to meet them and spend time with someone Josh went to high school with.

On Sunday morning, Mother's Day, Josh cooked us breakfast and I received beautiful cards that Josh and the girls made for me. We had to spend the rest of the day doing chores as we hadn't gotten much done on Saturday so it wasn't a relaxing day at all. Mother's Day this year was also the day that Peyton turned 4 months old. What does she decide to give her mommy and reward herself with on this special day...she rolls from her back to her belly! I had her playing on a blanket in the family room while I was doing stuff in the kitchen area. I heard a funny sound and looked over to see her on her belly chewing on her blankie! An hour later she did it again!

Well, today little Miss Peyton decided while playing on her blanket again that she would roll to her belly from her back. A few second later she rolled back onto her back. A few seconds later she rolled to her belly again. Once I saw this I immediately called Josh as this is the start of life getting harder once she connects these moves, because it means she will be mobile. (Jenna used to roll in a line to get where she wanted to go in the early stages.) Wow time is going by quickly and this is a girl who wants to go!

Peyton and Haley playing "footsie" on the floor. Haley is so gentle and sweet with the girls.

Josh and his girls before he headed out for the week on his business trip. I think they are going to miss him (me too!)

We're surviving

So we are now on day 3 of Josh being gone and we are surviving. We made it through last night even though Peyton decided to get up 2 times (I was getting used to just once) and then both girls were awake and in my bed by 6:45. While I was relly tired, it was sweet having all of my girls including Haley our dog hanging together and watching cartoons. I am praying that today goes quickly without many trials and that they sleep well tonight.

Why I LOVE Chick-fil-A

So this is my huge thank you to Chick-fil-A and my vocal announcement of my love for this fast food chain. For those of you not familiar with Chick-fil-A it is a fast food restaurant that only serves chicken, but it is so yummy. They also have waffle fries which are great. They focus on family and are closed on Sundays. All of this being said I personally LOVE them because when you go in with a toddler and an infant they are always so nice and helpful. Today Jenna, Peyton, and I went there for lunch and play time since this is day one of us being without Josh for the week. When we finished ordering our food, the nice man who took our order said he would bring it to our table. Not only did he bring our tray, he brought condiments and a plastic adhesive place mat for Jenna. So nice for a mommy who only has two hands and can only do so much. After lunch Jenna was able to play in their enclosed playground. This wore her out and helped prep her for her great nap that she took. Aaahhh! So nice.

Thank you, Peyton

My dearest, Peyton,

Thank you for letting your mommy get 7 straight hours of sleep last night. Having you go to bed at 7 pm and not waking up until 5:50 am, was such a surprise and delight. Sleep does both of us good!

Love,
Your mommy
PS~ Thank you to Ms. Elizabeth who made you this adorable onesies!
